Remember that banquet table at Second Seating? There were conversations overheard around that table and you can listen in with your copy of "Overheard at Second Seating." Preview this special little book's contents and order for gifts at www.blurb.com.
Second Seating: Where, When and What
Second Seating Yes, Second Seating is really over. Closed after Art Crawl on November 21.
However, if you find that you can't live without a painted plate, a coffee can chandelier or a totem made with cast off crockery, email me at mmh@mmhansen.com.
Second Seating was open September 25 - November 7, 2009 and for Art Crawl, November 21 at 20 N Chenevert in downtown Houston, just blocks from Minute Maid Park.
Last spring I found the 'next terrific thing' when I was selected by Houston Arts Alliance as the artist on an architectural team that at work on new space for the City of Houston’s permitting and code enforcement departments and the Green Building Resource Center. The city chose 1002 Washington Avenue, a four story brick building that was formerly a rice warehouse. Wonderful move on their part.
Studio Red is rehabbing it and making it ‘green’ and my task is to imbed ‘artful interventions in the functionality’ of this building. What a project to become part of right on the heels of Second Seating. Google Second Seating Houston for that story.
I’m loving this new project and hope you’ll want to follow along.
